MILWAUKEE — The Pirates promoted six members of their minor league system to the majors when rosters expanded today, including catcher Elias Diaz and outfielder Travis Snider.
The Pirates also added outfielder Jaff Decker, lefty Bobby LaFromboise and righty Radhames Liz.
Right-hander Rob Scahill was activated off the disabled list.
The Pirates had one open spot on their 40-man roster, but needed two, to add Liz and Snider. To create one, they recalled right-hander Casey Sadler, who is rehabilitating after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection to help a right forearm strain, and put him on the 60-day disabled list.
