The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed left-handed pitcher Wade LeBlanc on the disabled list with a left quad strain. To take his place on the active roster, the Pirates recalled left-handed pitcher Steven Brault, who was scheduled to start tonight for Indianapolis. Brault was in Syracuse, so he is en route to Pittsburgh still, but is expected to be there in time for the game.
Brault leads the International League with a 1.94 ERA, and he ranks in the top ten in innings pitched, WHIP and strikeouts. He pitched twice for the Pirates last month in relief, allowing two runs over four innings.
