LOS ANGELES — Where to begin?
The two errors in the first inning? The MLB debut gone awry? The back-to-back homers?
There’s no two ways about it: The Pirates’ 17-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers was completely brutal.
In the unfriendly confines of Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers amassed an early advantage off Nick Kingham and did not cede it. Los Angeles recorded season-highs in runs and hits (21); the Pirates gave up their most runs since last August. They had not lost by this many runs since April 22, 2010, when the Milwaukee Brewers shut them out, 20-0.
