WASHINGTON — Pirates right-hander Joe Musgrove is scheduled for a four-inning rehab start for Class AA Altoona Sunday, manager Clint Hurdle said.
Musgrove pitched three innings Tuesday for Class A Bradenton in his first rehab start since going on the 10-day disabled list because of a strained right shoulder April 2. He allowed five hits and two runs, striking out two without issuing a walk. He threw 15 more pitches in the bullpen after his outing.
“Felt fine, the velocity was firm, threw his cutter, his slider, the changeup,” Hurdle said. “It was a good first step.
