The Pirates have optioned righthander Nick Kingham to Triple-A Indianapolis and outfielder Jose Osuna is expected to be promoted to the Pirates on Tuesday, in time for the team’s interleague game against the Chicago White Sox.
Kingham looked very much like a big leaguer in his brief two-start stint with the Pirates. The 26-year old righty went 2-0 with a 2.92 ERA, striking out 16 batters over 12.1 IP. Of course, Kingham’s major league debut on April 29th, where he sat down the first 20 batters that he faced, is one of the best first starts in league history.
