Pirates' opener in Detroit postponed until Friday

DETROIT — The Pirates’ opening day game against the Detroit Tigers was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up at 1:10 p.m. Friday.

There will be no change to the rotation. The Pirates will do a light workout Thursday and return to their hotel.

The club had just announced their official opening day roster, and there were no surprises or changes from what the team announced Monday.

Starters: Ivan Nova, Jameson Taillon, Trevor Williams, Chad Kuhl and Joe Musgrove.

Catchers: Francisco Cervelli and Elias Diaz.

Outfielders: Corey Dickerson, Starling Marte, Gregory Polanco and Adam Frazier.
