Pirates outfielder Starling Marte was looking for a little change this week, after he began the season 3 for 26 at the plate, so he showed up at PNC Park sporting a freshly shaved head.
Marte going bald for the first time didn’t quite make headlines the way Andrew McCutchen did by shearing his trademark dreadlocks in spring training, but still it caught manager Clint Hurdle’s attention.
“These guys are pretty creative with their heads,” Hurdle said, laughing. “The shaved head … I think it's a good look. It's a bold statement.
