CINCINNATI — Jung Ho Kang batted cleanup Sunday, a spot manager Clint Hurdle said he has considered for the hot-hitting shortstop, but Hurdle will not make the move permanent yet.
Aramis Ramirez, who got the day off, has batted cleanup since the Pirates acquired him last month. In those seven games, though, he is 4 for 30.
“I think I want to give Aramis a little more time in the spot,” Hurdle said. “Probably one more series, look at him through it.”
Kang, though, is batting .294 after a stellar July in which he hit .
