The Pittsburgh Pirates had some minor league movement over the last two days involving all five affiliates in the U.S. Here’s a recap of the moves.
Infielder Chris Owings was designated for assignment by the Pirates over the weekend. He cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Indianapolis. He had the right to refuse the assignment, but chose to join Indianapolis, where he is now active. He hit .160/.160/.160 in 11 games for the Pirates.
Outfielder Chavez Young was sent from Indianapolis to Altoona in the roster shuffle. He debuted with Altoona yesterday, collecting two hits.
