MIAMI — Barry Bonds knows how you probably feel about him, and he’s sorry.
In an introspective interview with SportsOnEarth columnist Terence Moore, Bonds said he regretted the way he carried himself as a player and blamed himself for his public perception. Baseball’s career home run leader now is in his first year as Miami Marlins hitting coach.
Bonds admitted he was a “monster,” at times, and a “dumbass,” too.
“I was just flat-out dumb,” Bonds told Moore. “What can I say? I’m not going to try to justify the way I acted toward people.
