Pirates' Nik Turley suspended 80 games for performance-enhancing drug use

Pittsburgh Pirates left-handed pitcher Nik Turley has been suspended 80 games without pay after testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance Ipamorelin, Major League Baseball announced Saturday.

Turley appeared in 10 games (3 starts) last season with the Minnesota Twins. He was 0-2 with a 11.21 ERA.

The Pirates selected Turley off waivers in November. His suspension will start at the beginning of the regular season.
