BRADENTON, Fla. — There isn’t much Tom Prince hasn’t done in the 13 years he has spent in the Pirates organization. His tenure began as a coach for short-season Williamsport, included managerial positions as he rose through the system and then saw him become minor league field coordinator last year.
In his first foray in the major league coaching ranks, the accumulated experience and base of knowledge should benefit him.
“You could always hear of, oh yeah, I had that guy in double-A and this is what he is as a person, this is what he is as a player, this is what he was working on,” said Dave Jauss, the man Prince replaced as bench coach.
