The Pittsburgh Pirates have called up five players today, expanding their roster to 30 players for their first game in September. They have recalled Jameson Taillon, Steven Brault, and Adam Frazier from Bristol, while activating Chris Stewart from the disabled list, and calling up Jason Rogers from Indianapolis.
The returns for Taillon, Brault, and Frazier were expected. They were sent down to Bristol in order to bring up a few additional players who could help before rosters expanded. Normally, the Pirates would have to wait ten days to recall these players. However, because Bristol's season ended yesterday, the Pirates were able to recall them today, which was the point of sending them to Bristol.
