MIAMI — The Miami Marlins singled their way aboard against Chad Kuhl Friday night. The Pirates’ defense took care of the rest.
An error, a blown coverage and a wild pitch aided the Marlins in a 7-2 Pirates loss at Marlins Park Friday night. Chad Kuhl allowed only one extra-base hit out of the career-high 11 he gave up through five-plus innings, but the sheer volume of baserunners amplified the Pirates’ fielding mistakes. Marlins right fielder J.B. Shuck having one hell of a season debut didn’t help matters.
Kuhl missed up in the zone frequently Friday night.
