WASHINGTON — The mojo Bryce Harper and Matt Adams had on Tuesday night surged forward into Wednesday. The Washington Nationals’ new leadoff man and No. 3 hitter continued to pound Pirates pitching. And just like Tuesday, the rest of the lineup got in on the fun.
The Pirates lost their third game in a row, 9-3, at Nationals Park Wednesday. For the second night in a row, the Nationals squared up a Pirates starter. Tuesday it was Chad Kuhl. Wednesday Ivan Nova took the punishment.
Nova failed to complete five innings for the first time this season and gave up a season-high eight runs, five of them earned.
