Gerrit Cole delivered a strong start, the offense put together a pretty solid afternoon, and the bullpen closed it out for a very nice rubber match win at Dodger Stadium. This may have been a matchup the Pirates were supposed to win, but still – a road game against a first place club is never even close to a gimme, and it’s not as if it came easily. But since they pulled it out, things seem much rosier than they did Friday night. Two ahead of the Cubs now, still four back of the Cards, but four games in Colorado coming up.
