Pirates’ first baseman Josh Bell is one of three finalists for National League Rookie of the Year. The other two are Dodgers first baseman Cody Bellinger and Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong. Bellinger is widely expected to be an easy winner, with the award slated to be announced a week from today.
Bell batted 255/344/466 this year, with his numbers sliding due to a September slump. He finished with 26 HRs and a team-leading 90 RBIs. He was second on the team to Andrew McCutchen in HRs, slugging average and walks (66).
