As Chicago police continue to investigate sexual-assault allegations involving Jung Ho Kang, Pirates spokesman Brian Warecki said the Pirates currently have no plans to delay or cancel their Kang bobblehead giveaway scheduled for Aug. 11, an afternoon game against San Diego.
“As we said at the outset, we take the allegation very seriously,” Warecki said in a statement. “We also respect both the legal process in Chicago and the Commissioner’s jurisdiction in such matters. There have been no charges filed against Jung Ho. Under the joint MLB-MLBPA policy, the Commissioner’s Office is closely monitoring the investigation.
