The Pittsburgh Pirates are starting the season in the loss column after a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Miami Marlins on Thursday inside loanDepot Park.
The Pirates fell behind early in the third inning when Paul Skenes ran into some traffic on the bases. A grounder brought in shortstop Xavier Edwards to score the game’s first run.
That was the only run Skenes gave up as the Buccos added two runs in the top of the fifth thanks to a Bryan Reynolds single.
This is why he's Ryan Reynolds' favorite baseball player.
