Pirates Explode for Nine Runs in Seventh, Sweep Dodgers

The Pirates bats awoke in a big way on Sunday night, as they busted out for nine runs in the seventh inning, en route to the 13-6 win against the Dodgers. The win, gave the Pirates their 12th series sweep of the season, the most in the majors.

Charlie Morton dug the Pirates and early hole in the game, and did not look sharp in his five innings of work. He would allow ten hits, and surrender five runs in the subpar outing. LHP Alex Wood, looked good early on in the game, allowing just one run through the first five innings of the game.
