MILWAUKEE — The Pirates swung a last-minute deal with the New York Yankees to acquire right-hander Ivan Nova, a source told the Post-Gazette’s Stephen J. Nesbitt.
Nova, 29, is a free agent after this season. In 21 games, 15 starts, Nova has a 4.90 ERA and has allowed 1.8 home runs per nine innings.
The Pirates have not announced the trade or the official return.
