The Pirates, along with the other 29 Major League clubs, announced Tuesday that they have committed $1 million to help PNC Park employees affected by the delay to the start of the MLB season.
In total, $30 million will be set aside league-wide to help workers who are about to be impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
"We are doing everything possible to minimize the strain this situation will have on our employees and their families," Pirates owner and chairman Bob Nutting said in a press release. "This crisis has impacted every person, family and business throughout our community.
