The Pirates today traded hard-throwing right-hander Arquimedes Caminero to the Seattle Mariners to a player to be named later and a conditional player to be named later. They have yet to announce a corresponding 25-man roster move to replace Caminero.
Caminero, 29, was purchased by the Pirates from the Miami Marlins in February 2015 and had a 3.58 ERA over 115 2/3 innings in Pittsburgh. This season, Caminero had a 5.19 ERA prior to June 1, and a 2.28 ERA since.
