DETROIT — Right-hander Clay Holmes will join the Pirates as the 26th man for Sunday’s doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers, the Post-Gazette confirmed.
Pirates broadcaster Joe Block first reported the news.

If Holmes, 25, appears in a game, it will be his major league debut. The Pirates took him in the ninth round out of Slocomb (Ala.) High in 2011. He had a 3.36 ERA in 112u2154 innings last season at Class AAA Indianapolis.
