The Boston radio station WEEI, the Red Sox flagship radio station, named Pirates broadcaster Tim Neverett as its new play-by-play host for Red Sox radio broadcasts today.
Neverett joins Joe Castiglione, who has worked on the broadcast team since 1983, and replaces Dave O’Brien, who joined the NESN Red Sox broadcast.
For the past seven seasons, Neverett joined Greg Brown as play-by-play hosts for Pirates television and radio broadcasts on KDKA-FM 93.7 and Root Sports.
“Tim has been a consummate professional and a passionate ambassador of Pirates baseball for the last seven years,” Pirates president Frank Coonelly said in a statement.
