The Pirates blew a five run lead in the eighth and ninth innings on Tuesday, but were able to outlast the Diamondbacks, and secure the win in 15 innings. The game was the longest the Pirates have played this season in terms of innings. The unlikely hero, Pedro Florimon drove in Francisco Cervelli with a walk-off triple.
Pirates starter Francisco Liriano was shaky early on, but settled in nicely and actually pitched a pretty good game, despite a line that includes five earned runs against in seven innings.
