Things looked great in this game for the Pirates up until the seventh inning. They were leading 8-4. Up until that point, Steven Brault had pitched average enough, giving up four earned in 4.2 innings. Micheal Feliz followed that up with 1.1 scoreless himself. At that point, eight runs seemed like more than enough.
Then Kyle Crick came on in the seventh.
After getting an out to start the inning, Crick allowed a pair of singles followed by another out. Not a terrible situation. He then hit a batter to load the bases. Still no need to panic.
