DETROIT — Saturday’s game between the Pirates and Detroit Tigers was postponed due to impending rain.
The teams will make up the game as part of a split doubleheader Sunday. The first game will start at 1:10 p.m., the second game at 6:10 p.m.
Trevor Williams, the scheduled starter for Saturday’s game, will pitch the first game. Sunday starter Chad Kuhl will pitch the second.
The Pirates and Tigers were also rained out Thursday, pushing their season opener back a day. It was not currently raining as of the scheduled 1:10 p.m. start time, but heavy rain and winds are in the forecast and both teams have thin bullpens after playing a 13-inning game Friday.
