The Pirates added a third assistant general manager Wednesday, promoting Kevan Graves to the position during a series of field and front-office staff moves.
Graves was previously the director of baseball operations.
“Incredibly humbled,” Graves said. “I don’t say it enough. I just feel fortunate every day to be a part of the group, to be exposed to the degree that I am to the leadership group here.”
The Pirates also named Dave Jauss, who had served as a major league coach during the past three seasons, as bench coach. Manager Clint Hurdle did not have a true bench coach in 2015 after former bench coach Jeff Banister took the Texas Rangers’ manager job.
