The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated left-handed pitcher Rob Zastryzny off of the 15-day injured list ahead of Friday’s home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. To make room on the active roster, infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar has been designated for assignment.
Zastryzny last pitched for the Pirates on April 15th. Prior to his elbow injury, he made seven appearances totaling 5.2 innings. He allowed five runs on six hits and five walks, with six strikeouts.
Zastryzny needed just one rehab appearance with Triple-A Indianapolis before being activated from the IL. He tossed a shutout inning in that game.
