The Pittsburgh Pirates activated pitcher JT Brubaker from the injured list on Tuesday evening so he could make tonight’s start against the St Louis Cardinals. He will be on a limited pitch count since he hasn’t pitched in 19 days. Brubaker has made 27 starts this season, posting a 4.58 ERA in 141.1 innings, with a 1.46 WHIP and 145 strikeouts.
The Pirates also recalled Tucupita Marcano for the final two games of the season. He last played for the Pirates on September 7th, then reported to Indianapolis until the end of the Triple-A season. He joined the Pirates on the taxi squad last week.
