The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired 27-year-old right-handed pitcher Andre Jackson from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash considerations. To make room on the full 40-man roster, infielder Mark Mathias has been designated for assignment.
Jackson has pitched briefly in the majors during each of the last three seasons. He has totaled just 39 innings over that time in 14 relief appearances. He has a 4.15 ERA, a 4.41 FIP, a 1.38 WHIP and a 35:13 SO/BB ratio.
Jackson’s time this year was not good for the Dodgers. He had a 6.62 ERA in 17.
