Pirates Acquire Pitcher Eric Stout from Cubs

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced that they have acquired left-handed pitcher Eric Stout from the Chicago Cubs for cash considerations. He has been optioned to Indianapolis. The 40-man roster is now full.

The 29-year-old Stout was a 13th round pick of the Kansas City Royals out of Butler University in 2014. He made it to the majors for the first time in 2018, but he gave up seven runs in 2.1 innings over three appearances during his brief stint. He then went until this season before he returned to the majors with the Cubs. In two appearances, he has allowed two runs over 3.
