The Pirates acquired minor league infielder Chris Bostick from the Washington Nationals today in a trade that sent minor league catcher Taylor Gushue and cash to Washington.
Bostick, 23, received a spot on the 40-man roster but won’t report to the Pirates. To make room, the club put Josh Harrison, who is out for the year because of a strained right groin, on the 60-day disabled list.
Bostick hit .250 with a .313 on-base percentage and a .386 slugging percentage between Class AA Harrisburg and Class AAA Syracuse this season. He had an .
