The Pirates have acquired left-handed pitcher Kyle Lobstein from the Detroit Tigers for cash, the Pirates announced this afternoon.
Lobstein, a former second-round pick, had a 5.94 ERA in 13 appearances last season, 11 of them starts. In 20 career appearances, the 26-year-old Lobstein has a 5.33 ERA.
He adds starting depth to the Pirates' pitching staff, which has dwindled after the team traded Charlie Morton and released Allen Webster.
