Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Paul Skenes is already etching his name into the record books in just his second start. His debut at PNC Park against the Chicago Cubs, was one of the most hyped in the history of the sport, as the former first overall pick made his big league start less than a year after getting drafted.
Against those same Cubs, Skenes made MLB history, as in just his second start became the first pitcher to have a start where struck out the first 7 (or more) batters, and ended the day with zero hits allowed.
