The Pittsburgh Pirates bested the Baltimore Orioles in their game on Saturday afternoon, winning 5-2 against their Grapefruit League foes. Amongst the several players that stood out from the afternoon, many would say the main attraction was second-year pitcher Paul Skenes, who shined in his Spring debut.
Skenes is the reigning National League Rookie of the Year, and he got off to a hot start in his first start of the Spring. Through three innings pitched, the 22-year old LSU product struck out four batters. He also allowed four hits, gave up one walk, and allowed one run.
