BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Pirates' Opening Day roster is nearly set. Pittsburgh on Monday optioned corner infielder/outfielder Jose Osuna and reliever Kyle Crick to Triple-A Indianapolis and reassigned veteran left-hander Kevin Siegrist to Minor League camp.
Sending out Osuna indicates that, barring an unexpected transaction before Thursday, the Bucs will break camp with a four-man bench and an eight-man bullpen. They may rebalance their roster shortly after their season-opening series in Detroit, however, and there's a good chance Osuna will claim the final spot on the bench after another strong showing in Spring Training.
