More than the success, Pedro Alvarez will remember the moments.
The Pirates had plenty of success during Alvarez’s time in Pittsburgh, which began in 2010 and ended after the ’15 season. They made three consecutive wild-card games, won one of them and took the NLCS to five games against the St. Louis Cardinals.
“When you leave a team you remember the good memories that you had with your teammates, not even so much the success but the good memories and just the camaraderie we had here as teammates,” Alvarez said Tuesday, from the PNC Park visitor’s dugout.
