After the post-game Gatorade shower Tuesday, Jameson Taillon’s teammates brought him into Citi Field’s visiting clubhouse for further drenching. Heading to the showers to keep the carpet dry, they doused him with more drinks – “Beverages, some cold beverages,” Gerrit Cole said – and serenaded him with “Oh, Canada,” with Jared Hughes holding down the baritone.
“That was a really special moment,” Cole said, “and he thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Taillon was born in Florida and raised in Texas, but his parents are Canadian and he holds dual citizenship. He started for the Canadian national team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic against the U.
