On Monday, Major League Baseball set a 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline for the players association to send the league two pieces of information: Can the players report to spring training by July 1, and will the union agree to the league's health and safety protocols.
That deadline has since been passed with no word from either side on if a deal has been reached. However, according to Bob Nightengale, "there are no major snags" in those talks, and that players will be ready for July 1.
This is the final obstacle both sides still need to clear for there to be a 2020 season.
