Nelson's solid start lifts Brewers to 2-0 win over Pirates (The Associated Press)

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Jimmy Nelson pitched six shutout innings and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 on Monday night in a game delayed more than two hours by rain delays.

Nelson (3-6) gave up four hits and walked three. He struck out seven.

The game was delayed for 28 minutes in the home fourth then again for one hour and 45 minutes at the beginning of the eighth inning. The delays totaled two hours and 13 minutes.

Aramis Ramirez singled leading off the fifth and moved to third on Gerardo Parra's double.
