CINCINNATI — Charlie Morton pitched seven scoreless innings, Neil Walker homered and the Pirates beat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-0, at Great American Ball Park Sunday.
A relatively quick game ground to halt in the eighth inning, when the dugouts cleared because of a hit-batter conflict.
The Pirates split the four-game series with the Reds at two apiece. They have trouble against the Reds, and the division in general, on the road this year: Even after splitting the series, they are 2-5 at Great American Ball Park and 6-16 against NL Central teams on the road.
Morton did not walk a batter and struck out seven.
