The Pirates were able to break a seven game losing streak against the Brewers on Friday behind a sold pitching performance by Charlie Morton. The Pirates bats were also able to get some offense going again Brewers RHP Jimmy Nelson, something that they haven't been able to do in four previous starts this season.
After the Brew Crew picked up a pair of runs in the first, Morton was able to settle down and pitch very well. It seemed like old times however, as the Pirates weren't able to even record a hit through the first three innings off of Nelson.
