The already slim playoff chances of the Pittsburgh Pirates took a hit yesterday with a loss to the Atlanta Braves. They need to make up a lot of ground with numerous teams in front of them and only 36 games left in the season. Depending on how the next ten days go, you might not see a large group of players join the Pirates right away when the rosters expand on September 1st. That's because the top levels in the minor leagues both have an excellent chance at making the playoffs.
