Some movement has taken place within the PIttsburgh Pirates’ minor league organization, and although it might not be as much as some fans want, it did involve a couple of players who have been putting up eye-popping numbers this season.
Late last week, the Bucs promoted outfielder Anthony Alford, who started the season with the big club but was DFA’d after going 2 for 24 with 16 strikeouts in 29 plate appearances and wound up at Triple-A Indianapolis. Alford took a while to get untracked at Indy, but eventually got rolling and was mashing at the time of his recall.
