The Pittsburgh Pirates had a few minor league transactions on Thursday, including three players getting promoted.
Ji-hwan Bae left Sunday’s Indianapolis game early after running down the first base line and he hasn’t played since. On Thursday, he was placed on a 7-day injured list with a left oblique strain. He is currently hitting .297/.364/.450 in 83 games, with 29 extra-base hits and 20 stolen bases. Bae was likely in line for a promotion to the majors after the trade deadline, so this is bad timing for him, especially if it’s long-term.
The Pirates promoted Mike Jarvis from Greensboro to Indianapolis.
