Matt Morris Report: Good start for Sampson

-- Adrian Sampson gave up one run in six and two-thirds innings as Indianapolis beat Buffalo, 3-1. Sampson allowed seven hits and a walk, and fanned eight. Deolis Guerra and Blake Wood retired the last seven batters in order. Wood fanned two in the 9th in picking up his 14th save. The Indians had only four hits. Alen Hanson was 0-4 and Tony Sanchez 1-3.

-- Altoona hammered New Britain and former Bucs' minor leaguer Shane Carle, 8-2. Chad Kuhl gave up two runs in six and a third innings on five hits and two walks.
