Starling Marte won his second consecutive Gold Glove award Tuesday night, extending his reign as the National League’s best defensive left fielder.
Marte won the award ahead of Adam Duvall of the Cincinnati Reds and Christian Yelich of the Miami Marlins, the other two finalists for the award.
Marte, 28, led all major league left fielders with 19 Defensive Runs Saved while playing left field, according to Baseball Info Solutions. His 17 outfield assists led major league left fielders as well.
Marte won his first Gold Glove last season and also won the Wilson defensive player of the year award as the majors’ best left fielder.
