Malkin: I hope fans 'hate us right now' for incomplete efforts

The Penguins are the NHL's oldest team.

They looked every bit the part as they blew a four-goal lead and lost, 5-4, in overtime to the Red Wings here at PPG Paints Arena Wednesday night.

After getting walloped, 5-1, by the Islanders in Elmont, N.Y. on Tuesday, the Penguins came out buzzing on Wednesday as they potted four goals in the first period. Drew O'Connor opened the scoring on his very first shift of the game, then Jeff Carter gave the Penguins a two-goal cushion with a power-play tally halfway through the period.
